God blows my mind!!!!!

We had a great worship time this Sunday morning! It is amazing what happens when the people of the church just sing to their Lord! God blows me away everyday with His love and mercy! When I think about him carrying a cross that I should have carried, I cannot help but sing to Him! John 4:23-24 tells us that God is SEEKING those who will worship Him in spirit and truth. The crazy thing is that we don’t have to worship Him to obtain salvation. He gives us salvation when we confess and believe that He is Lord! However, God is seeking those who will worship Him! I do not think it is to much to ask for us to lay aside our own desires to worship the only one true God. He is the God that took all our sin and shame away! He cleansed us of all our unrighteousness. And, He did that without us lifting a hand to worship Him. He did that knowing that so many people would turn away from Him, and yet He is always right there when we turn back to Him. He is always ready to forgive! His grace is not something we can wrap our minds around! My challenge to myself, and those reading this post, is to set aside our own thoughts and desires and worship God with our life! God has given us everything, and it isn’t to much for us to do that for Him! God is seeking those who will worship Him in spirit and truth! Those that will live a lifestyle of worship! Will we obey the Lord? Will we sing a song of praise daily? Will we live according the Word of God? God is seeking those who will live this lifestyle! A lifestyle of worship! Will that be us?

The Undone Worshipper – Chapter 2

Isaiah 6:1-5 (New King James Version)

Isaiah Called to Be a Prophet

¹ In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple. ² Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. ³ And one cried to another and said:

“ Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts;
The whole earth is full of His glory!”
⁴ And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke.
⁵ So I said:

“ Woe is me, for I am undone!
Because I am a man of unclean lips,
And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips;
For my eyes have seen the King,
The LORD of hosts.”

In this chapter, we read about the undone worshipper.  In the above passage, Isaiah becomes an undone worshipper.  He comes to a place in which he sees his weaknesses, and sees God’s strength.  God brought Isaiah to a place of humility.  God brought him back to reality, and Isaiah became undone.  Later in vs.8, Isaiah says “Send me.”  God had to undo Isaiah before He could send him.  This also has to happen to every worshipper on a frequent basis.  I know that God has to bring me to an undone state quite often.  We tend to let our humanity and pride rise up in our hearts sometimes, and that is when God has to humble us.  Worship is about Jesus and Him alone!  We need to be undone when we start to think otherwise.  Let our pray, as worshippers, be that God would make us undone worshippers!  The book refers to Jonah as an undone worshipper, and he is a good example.  Jonah ran from God.  He thought of himself before the Lord, and God stepped in and put him in the belly of a big fish.  Jonah was undone, and God brought his focus back to what Jonah was commanded to do.  God will put us in a season of brokenness, but its a good brokenness.  It brings us closer to Him, and sets us up to become undone worshippers.  Undone worshippers see the greatness, goodness, and love of God, and then they respond to it in complete humility.  I pray that we can all become undone worshippers! God is so worthy of our undone worship!!!!

The Unquenchable Worshipper – Chapter 1

Habakkuk 3:17, 18
¹⁷ Even though the fig trees have no blossoms,
and there are no grapes on the vines;
even though the olive crop fails,
and the fields lie empty and barren;
even though the flocks die in the fields,
and the cattle barns are empty,
¹⁸ yet I will rejoice in the Lord!
I will be joyful in the God of my salvation!

Habakkuk refused to let his worship be diminished by the hardship he was facing.  That is the attitude of a true unquenchable worshipper!  Paul and Silas give us another good example in Acts 16.  They were beaten and thrown in prison.  I cannot relate to there situation, but I have to wonder if I would have responded in the same manner.  They began to sing and worship the Lord in the midst of their pain and suffering.  As worship leaders, we need to have this kind of attitude and outlook.  No matter what comes our way we need to be persevering in our worship of Jesus!  If we cannot worship the Lord ourselves then how can we lead others into worship?  In John 4:23, 24 we see that God is looking for true worshippers!  He is looking for worshippers whose worship will be unquenchable!  He is looking for worshippers who are not distracted by there current situations, but are always focused on Jesus!  What are some things in your life that might be holding your worship back?  We all need to ask that question daily, and bring our focus back to Jesus!
